The UK government is consulting on England’s 2021 fuel poverty strategy, with the view to review and update it to align with current ambitions. The minister for energy consumers, Miatta Fahnbulleh MP, outlines a commitment to “deliver energy security, lower bills and a net zero transition that works for every family”. Bringing together the challenges of fuel poverty and net zero will be crucial to achieving this aim.

In this event, we will share a summary of the consultation and Regen’s current insights. We will then facilitate an interactive discussion with a focus on how to better bring together the fuel poverty, clean power and net zero agendas in policy, markets and regulation to support a fast and fair transition. We hope the event will provide opportunities for future collaboration in research and advocacy that will bring together net zero and fuel poverty.
