To accompany the Energy Generation in Wales study which Regen produced for the Welsh Government, Regen have designed a graphical summary ‘in 5 minutes’ version of the full report.

By the end of 2017, Wales was generating the equivalent of 48% of consumption from renewable electricity sources, the target is 70% by 2030:

Renewable Electricity Target So Far

The full report was commissioned to obtain a holistic understanding of the energy generated in Wales in 2017. The study charts the progress achieved towards their target for 70% of electricity consumption to be generated by renewables by 2030. Last year, the Welsh Government additionally set a target for 2030 that one gigawatt of renewable energy capacity would be locally owned.
