THE ROLE

As an energy analyst at Regen, you will use data analysis and clear communication to support the transformation of the energy system towards net zero.

You will:

  • Analyse and interpret complex datasets, developing robust methods to support our projects
  • Contribute to thought leadership and policy work, helping to develop evidence-based insights and recommendations
  • Produce high-quality written and visual outputs, including reports, briefings and analysis
  • Support the delivery of projects, working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to client work

Over time, you will have opportunities to take on greater responsibility for project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

Skills and experience

  • Some experience within the energy industry or related sectors
  • Educated to degree or masters level (or equivalent qualification) with good grades in a relevant subject
  • Data analysis skills using Excel, SQL, R, GIS or Python
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, able to engage with senior audiences and present a compelling, evidence-based call for action
  • Aptitude for presenting analysis in compelling graphical formats, including charts, maps and infographics
  • Able to manage projects and produce well-written technical and non-technical reports
  • Able to contribute to client engagement and stakeholder interaction.

Your approach to work

Regen operates as a self-managed organisation built on trust, ownership and shared purpose. That means there is less hierarchy and less day-to-day direction than in many organisations. You’ll be expected to take initiative, manage your own workload and actively shape your own development, with support and guidance from colleagues. This suits people who are self-motivated, curious and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.

How to apply

Applications Interested candidates should send a CV, with a covering letter outlining their suitability for the role, their interest in energy and why they wish to work at Regen, to Katrina Jackson at recruitment@regen.co.uk. There is currently no deadline for applications; applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Interviews

Suitable candidates will be invited for an informal online chat before being asked to attend an in-person interview.

At the interview stage, candidates will be asked to give a presentation and complete an additional task.

Start dates

The expected start date is to be as soon as possible after acceptance, with some flexibility by arrangement.
