Sam joined Regen from Defra, where he worked after graduating from the University of Bristol with a masters degree in mechanical engineering.
At Defra, Sam supported international biodiversity engagement, working with NGOs, British embassies and foreign governments, and preparing briefings for ministers and senior officials on environmental policy. Throughout his studies, Sam also gained a range of industrial experience, from testing semiconductor manufacturing machinery near Bristol to supporting golf equipment innovation in Phoenix, Arizona.
Sam is motivated by the challenge of the clean energy transition and enjoys applying analytical and problem-solving skills to push towards a sustainable future.
Away from his desk, he can be found on a hockey pitch, golf course or running path. Having caught the travel bug while living in Arizona, he enjoys exploring new places and cultures and is happiest spending time outdoors, especially by the coast.
