Rachel leads Regen's strategic partnerships and impact, cementing our position as a leading independent force shaping the strategic pathway to and delivery of a clean energy future. As a working mother, Rachel is passionate about diversity and spearheads the ReWiRE programme, championing inclusion by empowering women in the renewables sector and building a vibrant network.

After graduating, Rachel began her career in the environmental sector and held a variety of event management and communication roles, including organising the Tour of Britain. Joining Regen in 2009, Rachel is passionate about industry-wide change and influencing policy and has received a British Empire Medal for her services to the energy sector.

Growing up in Devon, Rachel loves being outside—at the beach, on the moor, or in the woods. You can find her horse riding, walking her dog Biscuit, or growing vegetables!

Merlin leads Regen's mission to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon energy system. Under his leadership, Regen has developed into a leading organisation shaping the strategic pathway to a clean energy future.While focusing on the systemic challenges of decarbonising power, heat and transport, Merlin is a leading voice in grid connection reform, chairing NESO's Connections Reform Advisory Group. He also sits on several leading forums, including DESNZ/Ofgem's Connections Delivery Board.

Merlin has spent his career working for solutions to the climate crisis, championing public policies that unlock the power of businesses and communities to transform our energy system. Previously, he was a director of the Environmental Industries Commission, where he worked in Whitehall and Westminster to ensure government support for companies providing environmental solutions. Merlin is also a non-executive director for Communities for Renewables. He is an influential figure in energy policy and was awarded an OBE in 2019 for services to sustainable energy.

Merlin can often be found attempting yoga or messing about on boats in Devon.

Having been appointed as COO in January 2024, Kayte oversees NESO’s delivery across energy networks and markets and the real time operation of the electricity transmission system. As NESO has transitioned to become the ‘Future System Operator’ (FSO), Kayte’s focus has been on building and embedding a ‘whole system’ approach to the strategic planning and delivery of GB’s energy transition.

With more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector, Kayte was most recently accountable, for the design and delivery of the FSO on behalf of NESO. She has previously led the Strategy and Markets teams and spent 3 years in Boston with National Grid’s US electricity distribution businesses.

Kayte is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Jersey Electricity.

Cordi is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the UK’s largest electricity distribution network, serving more than eight million customers across the East and West Midlands, South West and South Wales. Cordi has more than 20 years’ experience in the energy industry, managing key relationships with government officials, regulators and customers. She has overseen transformation efforts to improve the customer experience across the National Grid businesses in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Cordi has a track record of fostering diverse and inclusive organisations and is the sponsor of the National Grid Women in National Grid (WiNG) employee resource group.

Jo brings deep market knowledge and Board experience to support strategic and operational development of businesses in the rapidly changing UK energy markets.

Expert in converting regulatory and policy uncertainty and risk into strategic and operational business success.

Pamela is an accredited executive coach with clients from start-ups, regulated companies, consultancies and the public sector.

Pamela also works with boards as a non-executive director. Prior to founding Taylor Macpherson Pamela was a director at FTI Consulting and the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets; experiencing many of the opportunities and challenges facing her clients today.

Rhian is an inclusive and collaborative influencer experienced in building effective relationships with external stakeholders and partnering internally. A passionate believer in the empowerment of people, strong at leading and developing inclusive and high performing teams as well as negotiating and delivering complex business change.

Amy is an environmental campaigner and strategist. As the Director for the UK Programme at the ECF, she supports the UK climate community in deepening political consensus on decarbonisation and securing policies to achieve net-zero emissions.

She is a member of the decision panel for the National Lottery’s Climate Action Fund, which catalyses climate action in place-based communities across the UK. She was appointed to the Strategic Advisory Network of the Economic and Social Research Council, part of the non-departmental public body of UK Research and Innovation. She was also elected to the board of the London Wildlife Trust, having spent many happy hours as a conservation volunteer at Sydenham Hill Wood.

Maria has almost 30 years experience bringing together senior leaders, Government and industry in the UK and internationally.

Maria brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the sector and is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion.

Gary Ford is the co-founder of Men for Inclusion, having spent 10 years in the Corporate world advocating for gender equality and diversity and inclusion wherever he worked.

Gary’s not just a co-founder; he’s a driving force behind Men for Inclusion, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for creating transformational culture change.

Georgina leads Zenobē’s engagement with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and public institutions. With a focus on strategic advocacy, she ensures that Zenobē’s innovative solutions in energy storage and fleet electrification align with and influence governmental and regulatory frameworks.

Georgina is an experienced policy professional with over ten years in the UK Civil Service, focusing on energy flexibility and clean technologies. She specialises in energy storage and demand-side response, contributing to the energy transition. Prior to joining Zenobē, she served as Head of Capacity Market Policy for Low Carbon Technologies at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), where she led essential reforms to enhance the UK’s energy security. Previously, she was the Energy Storage Innovation Lead at DESNZ, launching the £70M Longer Duration Energy Storage Demonstration (LODES) programme.

Dan McGrail has been appointed as the permanent Chief Executive Officer of Great British Energy, a company owned by the British people, to help drive forward the government’s Plan for Change and make the UK a clean energy superpower.

His appointment brings world-class private sector experience to Great British Energy, with the former Chief Executive of RenewableUK and CEO of Siemens Engines now leading the UK’s publicly-owned clean power revolution.
