The Sustainability, Safety and Supply Chain Working Group will reconvene in May with a specific focus on fire safety. Members of the working group agreed at the end of 2021 that this group should have a short term focus on fire safety as this is becoming a pressing issue for the industry. Later in the year, we will re-focus the group on sustainability.

The aim is to condense a few working group meetings into a short space of time with a laser sharp focus on taking particular action on fire safety to resolve some of the key issues facing us at the moment and pave the way for longer term solutions. This action will be led by members, both the direction and the work itself.

When you attend the working group on 3 May, please come prepared with actions you would like to see the industry take and how you may be able to support those actions. If there is anyone else you would like to be involved in this meetings, please do pass the invite along. If there are non-members you think may want to contribute, please let me know by reply.

This working group is a space to discuss many important aspects of the investment, development and operation of storage sites in the UK. The focus is on creating a sustainable industry that can aid the transition to net zero, with the core principle of adhering to environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) criteria.

This meeting is exclusively for the Electricity Storage Network members. If you are not currently a member of ESN but would like to find out more, contact Hannah Stanley hstanley@regen.co.uk
