We are excited to be launching our new ‘Net Zero Dashboards’ for local authorities.
We know that local authorities are going to be key to delivering net zero, working either directly or with other stakeholders to guide and inspire local action on heat, energy and transport.
Regen has been working to support local authorities on this journey, such as our recent paper which sets out a major programme to devolve powers and funding on energy – empowering local leaders to tackle the climate emergency
We have developed the annual Net Zero Dashboard as part of our relaunched local authority membership. Using Regen’s expertise in energy and data, the dashboard brings together key government and local data sources into a short and engaging overview of where the local authority is now and their progress towards net zero. We know that local authorities already have a huge challenge in delivering net zero, so we are hoping that this will take one thing off the list.

The dashboard includes sections on energy use, power generation, buildings, and transport and has been developed to help local authorities communicate the key challenges, and how far we need to go, to stakeholders inside and outside the organisation. There is a focus on energy use in each sector, as well as how the local authority compares against others.
