Richard is an independent environmental advisor. Until 2014, he was Director for the Environment Agency in the South West of England and was their National Operations lead for Water and Land. He currently chairs Wessex Water’s Catchment Panel, the Bristol Avon Catchment Partnership, and the Board of Trustees for Homemaker Southwest. He is a director of the Devon Environmental Business Initiative.
He has been a Member of the North East Regional Assembly and its Executive, Chairman of Future Foundations (sustainable construction), Chairman of Climate UK, a Trustee of Sustainability South West and the Chair of Climate South West.
Richard received an MBE in July 2000 for services to the Environment.
