The Clean Energy Powerhouse Prospectus outlines the opportunity for the Great South West to provide up to 11% of the UK’s 2035 low carbon electricity capacity and unlock up to £10 billion of GVA and 175,000 jobs in the process. This means increasing its installed low carbon capacity by over 800% through supporting the development of Hinkley Point C, floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea and key strategic interconnectors. The prospectus also sets out how the Great South West intends to work with government to unlock these opportunities and play a leading role in Powering Up Britain.
