Rachel Hayes, associate director at Regen, will be seconded into the strategy team in the COP unit in the Cabinet Office to lead Regen’s contribution to COP26.

COP26, which will take place in Glasgow this November, is a critical moment for addressing the global climate crisis. Regen is committed to supporting the success of this COP and, in particular, to using this opportunity to inject renewed ambition into achieving our mission to decarbonise our energy system. We are therefore pleased to be contributing our extensive expertise in the energy transition into the COP unit in the Cabinet Office as it delivers its vital work this year. Rachel Hayes, associate director at Regen, will be on secondment to the Cabinet Office to lead Regen’s contribution.

COP26 is not just about one fortnight in Glasgow. It is about using every day this year to mobilise people, communities and businesses behind the race to zero. Every government should arrive at the conference in November knowing that all of society is now demanding much higher ambition and much greater action.

Our work with the Cabinet Office will therefore focus on harnessing the opportunity of COP26 to support and showcase the great organisations, pioneering projects and inspiring people working to achieve the clean energy transition and tackle the climate crisis across the UK.
